One Book, One School
In case you’re not familiar with One Book, One School (OBOS), every year we pick a fun book that everyone in the building will read at the same time – that includes every single one of our amazing staff members (teachers, paras, administrators and even some bus drivers) as well as every awesome student.
We read specific chapters each week for a 4-6 week period. Families are encouraged to read too! We have weekly activities designed to stimulate discussions around school – not only between students, but also between staff and students. It is a great community-builder!
We generally end the program with a culminating activity.
This year copies of the book, Sled Dog School (by Terry Johnson), were generously purchased by CPV Towantic Energy Center - so be sure to thank them!
Here are all the books we've done so far:
2012: The World According to Humphrey (Birney)

2015: The One and Only Ivan (Applegate)
2016: The Thing About Georgie (Graff)
